Darksiders Genesis is an action role-playing game developed by Airship Syndicate and published by THQ Nordic. The game was released on 5 December 2019 for PC and later came to consoles on 14 February 2020.

Darksiders Genesis Gameplay
Darksiders Genesis takes place before the events of the first Darksiders game. Players control War and Strife, two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, trying to stop Lucifer from upsetting the balance between Heaven and Hell. Unlike previous games in the series, Genesis uses a top-down view similar to Diablo. War plays like his style in the first game with close-range attacks, while Strife uses guns for long-range combat. Players can switch between both characters anytime during solo play or team up with a friend in two-player co-op mode. The game has combat, jumping puzzles, and exploration sections.
Darksiders Genesis Features
Darksiders Genesis includes a unique Creature Core system where players collect cores from enemies to upgrade their abilities. The game has 16 chapters with various areas to explore. Players can buy items and upgrades from Vulgrim using souls collected throughout the game. The arena mode lets players test their skills against waves of enemies. Characters gain new weapons and abilities as they progress through the story. Genesis maintains the comic book art style of previous Darksiders games while adapting it to the new camera angle and gameplay style.
