Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is a prequel to the first game and follows the story of Ray and Thomas McCall, two brothers who desert from the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. Players can select which brother to play as at the start of most levels. Ray uses dual pistols and is better at close combat, while Thomas is skilled with rifles and can use a lasso to reach high places. The game includes gunfights where players can take cover behind objects and use various weapons from that period. Both characters have a special ability called “Concentration Mode”, where time slows down, and they can kill many enemies quickly.
