Outlast, created and published by Red Barrels, launched on September 4, 2013. This survival horror game places you as Miles Upshur, an investigative reporter who breaks into Mount Massive Asylum after receiving an email about strange experiments by the Murkoff Corporation.
Outlast Gameplay
Players explore the asylum in darkness using a camcorder with night vision capabilities. Since Miles has no combat abilities, hiding and running remain crucial for survival. The game requires finding batteries scattered throughout the building to keep the camera working. You can hide in lockers, crawl through vents, or slide under beds to escape from violent inmates and staff. The camera must be raised strategically to record specific events while conserving battery power.
Outlast Features
The game uses Unreal Engine 3 to create realistic asylum environments with proper lighting and shadows. The audio design includes distant screams, heavy breathing, and threatening voices that build suspense. Players uncover the truth by collecting documents and recording footage that reveals the asylum’s horrific experiments. The night vision camera turns everything into an eerie green view, showing enemy movements through the darkness. The asylum contains many locked doors, which require finding keys or alternate routes while avoiding dangerous enemies. Each section includes tight corridors and open areas that force players to plan their escape paths carefully.

How to Download and Install Outlast PC Game?
We have simple instructions for downloading and installing the game on your Windows operating system Such as Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP (The procedure is the same for all operating systems.). - Right-click on the Outlast.zip file and click on the “extract here” option from the dropdown menu.
- Double click on the .torrent file. Then, choose the download folder.
- After Download Completed, Open the Outlast Game folder.
- Double-click on the Setup.exe file and install the game on your PC.
Done!. Now you can launch the game from your desktop.
After the installation, If you get any missing dll errors or the game is not launching, then Download Redist File and install all programs available in the “Redist” folder.
